Cooler Care
Cooler Set Up Procedure - Very
Important. Please read before use! Do NOT plug
cooler in until the steps below are performed!
Place the cooler in a well-ventilated
area making sure there is at lease 2” of clearance
between the back of the unit and any wall.
Put a 5-gallon bottle on top of the
cooler.
Cold water: Position a cup or glass
under the cold faucet and drain the water out of the cold
side until you get a steady stream. Plug the water cooler
into the electrical outlet.
Hot water: Hold a cup under the hot
water spigot. Initially, the water will not drain from the
hot faucet as fast as the cold faucet did. As you hold the
valve open for a few moments, the hot water tank will fill
with water. . When the tank is full, the water will dispense
at a steady stream. IMPORTANT! You must properly fill the
hot tank before plugging unit in or you may burn the unit
out. Plug the water cooler into the electrical outlet. Some
coolers have an on/off switch for the hot water heater located
on the REAR shelf inside the cooler.
• Your Indispensable Dispenser
With just minimal care, your home water dispenser will provide
years of safe, trouble-free refreshment. Here are specific
procedures recommended by the International Bottled Water
Association (IBWA) to assure your bottled water dispenser
always remains clean and its water delicious.
In developing these procedures, the
IBWA has conducted studies (administered by Yale University's
School of Medicine) evaluating the safety of water dispensers
and how to protect them. These tests confirm a simple program
of regular cleaning and maintenance safeguards dispensers
as a convenient way to enjoy bottled water any time.
• How To Clean Your Dispenser
Your Bottled water dispenser is virtually maintenance free--always
ready to provide clean, refreshing bottled water at the press
of a button. To be sure it stays in proper working order,
however, you should spend a few minutes on basic care every
two or three months.
When it's time to replace water bottles:
- Unplug cooler. Remove empty water
bottle.
- Drain all water still in reservoir
through the cold water faucet.
- Fill the dispenser reservoir with
clean tap water (about one gallon). Dissolve one teaspoon
of household bleach in one cup of tap water. Add this mixture
to the tap water already in the reservoir. (Never use more
than one teaspoon per gallon of tap water).
- Using a clean brush, scrub the inside
of the reservoir. Let stand for five minutes.
- Drain this water through the cold
water faucet ONLY. Wipe the reservoir dry.
- Rinse reservoir by filling with
clean tap water. Drain through the cold water faucet.
- If your cooler has two faucets,
refill the reservoir with clean tap water. Drain through
the second faucet.
- Place a new bottle on your dispenser.
Plug in the unit and ENJOY!
• Cleaning Your Drip Tray
Your dispenser's drip tray is not a drain but a basin to catch
occasional spills. It should be emptied and cleaned at least
once a month. To do this, remove drip tray from dispenser,
clean it with mild soap and water, then rinse and replace.
• Replace Your Water Bottles
Properly
Always keep full bottles standing upright, away from heat,
chemicals, and odors. Do not use bottles as a shelf. When
refilling the cooler, wipe the neck of the new bottle, the
top of the dispenser, and the lip of the reservoir with a
clean, damp cloth.
• Other Helpful Hints
Always unplug the cooler from the wall outlet when out of
water.
Do not place the cooler or water bottles
in an area where the temperature may fall below freezing.
Some faucets have child-resistant
attachments:

• Enjoy
your bottled water in confidence and good health.
